You want to make the best possible decision to pro... tect your family. There are indigenous who have never had an office visit to see a medical professional because they are very healthy. But then you have other individuals who have to see their doctors every month basis for medical treatment. As a nurse, I would suggest parents vaccinate their children. How has this year, 2020 affected us by Covid-19? Now, we are depending on a vaccine to come out to save our lives. We know everyone is entitled to their own opinion but as medical professionals, we are here to advocate for our patients. Vaccination is often described as one of the greatest successes in public health history, and vaccination programs are credited for the drastic decline of many vaccinepreventable diseases (VPD; Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2011). Parents can argue that they can allow nature to do its a thing and protect their childs immune system. However, they have to take in consideration that when a baby is born their immune system is not fully developed. Immunity is the way the body can prevent diseases. Parents are risking their childrens health by declining immunization. Children who are not vaccinated have a higher risk of deadly infections. What has this year showed us thus far?
