Percent Communication Working in the medical field proper c... ommunication is vital. In a normal working environment for me interpersonal and group communication is used 75% of the time. Caring for my patients and accommodating their families requires very detailed and specific communication, such as: medical history & background, current signs or symptoms, cause of injury, social work needs, and so on. Group communication allows me to get together with the nurse and doctors to implement the best plan of care; as well as meeting with staff and management for assignment information and department needs. 2. Percent Time Communication of some kind is used 100% throughout my day. If I am not communicating with others I am communicating with myself. ;) I know that might sound a little weird, however there are different styles of communication used on a daily. I use intrapersonal communication about 50% of the day. I am constantly questioning myself about any and every decision I am thinking about making or have made. Every morning I uplift, motive, and encourage myself with self-talk about making the day a great day, full of positivity no matter what happens. Dyadic communication is used about 75% of my day as I share my thoughts, personal views or feelings with my husband or close family members and friends. This level of communication to me is up, close, and personal.
