Applied Behavior Analysis is often applied to determine how behavior works, and what can be done to decrease those behaviors that discourage social interactions, and those that may be harmful. ABA therapy comes up with programs that increase communication skills, since most individuals, especially children who have behavior problems, have issues with attention, focus, and social skills. Since the 1960s, therapists have applied ABA to help those children with autism, and other developmental disorders. This therapy involves various techniques that create an understanding and helps the children in question change behavior. The importance of using ABA in changing behavior is because this therapy can be adapted to help meet the unique needs of an individual, and teach useful skills. The main strategy ABA employs is positive reinforcement, whereby following a behavior with a reward tends to encourage a behavior. This behavior becomes more likely to be repeated, thus may be used when encouraging positive behavior. This research will be conducted on behavior challenges observed in an autistic child, including physical aggression, such as hitting, scratching, pushing, and throwing objects. Whenever a behavior is measured and the appropriate intervention is applied, this becomes significant in the social context.
