Due to the corona pandemic Facebook is reaching an all time high in demand for advertising space due to the online shopping craze that has developed due tot the virus and stay at home or social distancing measure people are required to take. The company was started in 2004 by a Harvard University student named Mark Zuckerberg and his Harvard roommates. Facebook has even surpassed Amazon and Google in market share and is the number one social media platform in the world. Their mission is to give the people the power to make the world more open and connect and through the use of their website and mobile application they accomplish that mission very successfully. Facebook was created to allow users to stay connected to friends and family, discover what is going on in the world at present times, and to give users the ability to share and express what, matters most to that individual. I believe their mission has changed the way that people interact online forever and has also changed the way people spend their free time all over the world.
