One may think the manager makes a lot of money and gets to boss people around. While part of that may be true there is more in-depth roles, he/she must play. A health care manager wears many hats. He/she is responsible for making sure there is enough staffing, the organization™s mission, values, and goals are being upheld by the employees that he/she manages and is even responsible for implementing new technology systems within the organization. He/she must determine the right technology, if the new technology will work with existing technology, if the system is user friendly, what are the benefits of the new system and is it worth the cost, and the effectiveness of the new technology. The Right Technology Choosing the right technology system to bring into your health care organization can be difficult task, especially with technology changing and there being so many different options. One must choose one that is affordable and will provide long term profits yet also achieve the goals of the organization (Nock et al., 2015). One thing to help make choosing a technology system easier, is to make a list of goals the organization wants to achieve with the new system (Smith et al., 2016).
