B. Needs assessment summary The demographic assessment revealed the population of Sentinel City to be 663,862. There has been an increase of occupancy of 9.6% over the last 2 years. The population is made up of 7.4% under the age of 5, 21.7% under the age of 18, 10.5% 65 and over. 80% of the population is white while 10.4% is black. There are several other races that occupy Sentinel City at a much smaller percentage; namely Hispanic, American Indian, Alaskan native, native Hawaiian and Pacific islanders. The Median household income is $49,091.00 and 8.9% of the city live below poverty level. Neighborhood median income and non-insured residents vary. Nightingale Square median income is $269,550.00 with -.07% being uninsured, Acer Tech Center median income is 166,300.00 with 1.5% being uninsured, Casper Park District median income is $80,134.00 and 22.7% of the residents are uninsured. Lastly, Industrial Heights median income is 24,672.00 also having the highest uninsured rate of 37.5%. I used the demographic assessment survey to assist in gathering data about the demographics of Sentinel City.
