However, the largest minority group is the Hispanic or Latino minority group. It is also the group that is growing fastest in American society. The median age of the Hispanic population is less than 25 and their birth rate is progressively growing (The N. S. E. Ed. 2013). In the list of median household income in the United States the Hispanics are the second poorest ethnic group (U.S. Census Bureau n.d.). The economic status of this group is also reflected in its health. Because of the poverty Hispanics have limited access to the health insurance, and subsequently to the medical care. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) define two leading causes of death in the United States as the heart disease and cancer (CDC, 2017). Hispanics population is following the national average in the respect of the leading causes of death in the United States. Additionally, the CDC (2015) in its report of 10 leading causes of death indicates that Hispanics have lower rates of death than white population. The exception are higher death rates from diabetes, chronic liver disease, and chronic kidney disease (Vital Signs, para.1).
