What are the challenges and emotional tasks of young adulthood? Are they the same as those that your grandparents faced? What about young adults living in different cultures? This section lists option... s that can be used to view responses. The roles of transitioning to adulthood can be stressful because we have to start thinking about our future and goals (Boyd and Bee 350). Some challenges young adult might face is getting a degree, making parents proud, finding the right person to get married, moving out of parent’s place, friendships, and more. According to textbook, it says that young adults are suffering from stress and about 10% of adults think about committing suicide every day in their lives ( Boyd and Bee 259). I feel like these thoughts of suicide comes from depression and peer pressure. Just like how we learned before, if we have a good support system then we will more likely to be succeed. However, if we do not have that good support system then negative thoughts arises because it leads to loneliness and temptation to committing suicide. I would say that these challenges were not similar to what my grandparents faced. They faced their own challenges and my grandparents got married at a very young age. They used to tell me that they had options if they wanted to study or own a business that was passed down by my great grandfather. Back in the day, people were more in to business than education, I feel like nowadays without education you cannot earn a decent amount of money to take care of yourself. I want to move out, but I am also a broke college student and cannot afford most things. Therefore, I think it is very challenging to transition to young adulthood. [Show More]
