The referring Spiritual Advisor at the Center for Spiritual Enlightenment, having a master’s degree in counseling, believed Jamal’s symptoms were described as PTSD in opposed to dhat syndrome that he was diagnosed with at the Center for Spiritual Enlightenment. Reportedly, by Jamal’s brother, after Jamal having had appeared on the American Game show, who wants to be a millionaire, 15 days ago, Jamal has been in a daze almost all day, not sleeping at night, and having nightmares. Jamal’s brother also reported that Jamal was easily startled and refuses to go anywhere near the Mumbai jail. Jamal self-reported that he did not remember anything from the game show he appeared on. Jamal further reported that it felt as if the city around him was no longer real. Jamal further reported that he feels like a detached observer of his behavior and he is watching the world bump along. Source of Information. The information provided was collected initially from notes released from the Center for Spiritual Enlightenment intake at the time of referral, statements made by Jamal’s brother, and Jamal self-reporting. Additional information provided, was from the self- reporting measurement of the Acute Stress Disorder Scale that was administered to Jamal. The Acute Stress Disorder Scale was helpful in ruling out ASD and confirming Jamal’s PTSD symptoms. [Show More]
