Running head: RENEE WORKMAN CASE STUDY AND SBAR RENEE WORKMAN CASE STUDY AND SBAR 2 Renee Workman Case Study and SBAR Disease Process Pregnancy induced hypertensive (PIH) disorders include several... conditions that occur during gestational period due to vasospasm of small and large arteries. These conditions are mainly characterized by high blood pressure and increasing blood vessels resistance and blood flow constriction in various organ systems, including placenta, brain, kidneys, liver, and the brain (Watanabe, Koshiyama, & Yanagisawa, 2017). If left unattended, PHI disorders can imperil maternal and fetal health. PIH pathophysiology entails elevated cardiac output during pregnancy, which can harm arterial epithelial cells (Anderson & Schmella, 2017). It is thought that prostaglandin, exacerbates vasodilation risks and subsequent injuries. These abnormalities usually result in blood vessel and pressure abnormalities. In particular, the baseline for PIU disorders is indicated by high blood pressure, usually more than 140/90mmHg, and may be subject to further classification based on the accompanying manifestations (Gerasimova et al., 2019). These groups may include gestational hypertension, mild or severe preeclampsia, and eclampsia, among others. An expectant mother is said to have mild preeclampsia mainly due to elevated blood pressure (BP) readings (>140/90mmHg) on at least to incidents within a six hours interval. The patient may manifest proteinuria (+1 or +2) on [Show More]
