In order to calculate these values, we tested and recorded the max potential and kinetic energy of the pendulum. The max potential of the pendulum stays constant, however, we recorded three values of the max kinetic energy as the pendulum impacted the steel rectangle. From those three-recorded values, we found the average to get the average max kinetic energy. Knowing all these values, we can calculate and find the kinetic energy, velocity, pendulum mass and effective weight of the impact test that we were asked to solve. [Show More]
