Mauricio trained to be a museum curator. On his first day as an intern, his boss, Kevin, told him that a very exciting exhibit was coming to the museum. “There are very few artifacts from the medi... eval religious wars,” exclaimed Kevin. “We are very lucky to be able to exhibit this armor!” “It must have been so hot in that armor,” said Mauricio. “Didn’t that series of wars take place in what’s now known as the Middle East and North Africa?” “Exactly right!” said Kevin. “It’s good to have you aboard.” The more recent conflict between Christians and Muslims in Bosnia Herzegovina is an example of (A) ethnic cleansing , or the targeting of a religious group for elimination. At Mass that night, Mauricio’s mother, Lucia, asked him about his first day at the museum. “What are they paying you?” she asked. “Nothing, Mama. It’s an internship. My experience is the pay,” answered Mauricio. “There are many people in this church with a lot of money, Mauricio. Why don’t you ask them to help you out?” Lucia said. “That’s a nice idea, Mama, but I’m sure they have their own expenses,” Mauricio replied. In the concept of (A) social justice it's believed that groups should be held to the same standards as individuals, especially with respect to economic and social inequality. After Mass, Mauricio’s nephew, Alejandro, asked, “The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all parts of one God, right?” “Yes,” answered Mauricio. “While some religions believe in many gods, we are Catholic, and the Bible teaches us that there is only one.” (A) Morality and (B) ethics guidelines are outlined and interpreted by various sources, such as holy books and oral and written traditions. In the parking lot of the church, Alejandro asked, “Uncle Mauricio, why do you live by yourself? Don’t you have a girlfriend?” Surprised, Mauricio replied, “Yes, Alejandro, I do have a girlfriend, but Celia and I are not married. As Christians, we have agreed that we will not live as husband and wife until we actually are husband and wife.” Match each marriage and family practice below to its corresponding religion. = Correct Answer = Incorrect Answer Confucianism Judaism Hinduism Marriage is a sacred duty.
