Prompt two One of the issues that can place RK at risk of developing acute kidney injury is Rhabdomyolysis. Rhabdomyolysis is a condition that occurs when an individual has damaged skeletal muscle and the products of the breakdown are released into the blood circulation results in severe kidney injury (Petejova, Martinek, & Zadrazil, 2018). RK has damaged skeletal muscles due to fracture on the femur and tibia hence the likelihood of developing Rhabdomyolysis is high, which consequently results in acute kidney injury as a severe complication. Another issue that can place RK at high risk of developing acute kidney injury is antibiotic therapy. RK is placed on the administration of antibiotics such as prophylactic aminoglycoside meant to heal fractures. Treatment of open fractures using antibiotics has been impacting positively by reducing rates of infections (Pannell et al., 2016). Therefore, antibiotics are important in the healing of open fractures. However, such antibiotics result in acute kidney injuries in such patients (Pannell et al., 2016).
