Many people experience depression throughout their lifetime and many people do not know how to cope with it and just try to hide it because they may think that they look weak in others eyes. There are many ways to face and deal with depression but the first step is to speak up. The Joint Commission has published a brochure called Speak Up for adult depression in May 2013. The brochure helps adults who may suffer from depression have a better understanding of what my cause or trigger this condition. It helps inform people of the warning signs, it helps adults understand what kind of treatments they can receive when dealing with this condition, and also let them aware that family and friends may be able to help them overcome this condition as well. Summary The brochure discusses information about depression, provides ways of how to speak up if one needs help dealing with depression, and it also gives adults questions to ask their healthcare providers.
