Walden University: NURS 6650: Psychotherapy with Groups and Families Journal Week 2. This week’s journal will discuss two clients observed during a family session. It will review their past medical... history, past psychiatric, and will use the DSM-5 criteria to formulate a diagnosis. Any legal and/or ethical issues related to counseling each client will be discussed. The patients who will be discussed for this journal entry have been married for forty one years. They moved to this area from Puerto Rico thirty six years ago. The wife has been coming for individual therapy for three years. The husband has been coming for individual therapy for nine months. He does not always make his individual appointments. They recently started family therapy. Patient one- Hispanic 66-year-old female. Spanish is her primary language, but speaks and understands English well. Patient has been recently diagnosed with stage I breast cancer. She had a port placed and has started chemotherapy. She will have surgery, radiation, and additional chemo treatments. She is dealing well with her newly diagnosed cancer. She has a very positive attitude.
