How did it affect the leader's ability to be an effective leader? How did it change how you personally felt about the leader? Do you feel that leaders who have lost their "authenticity" can ever regain the trust of their followers? Your Answer: 1.I have a had a manager who has espoused on message and then acted in a different manner. This manager would tell me that she would help me when I started nursing school. So I switched to night shif so that I still work then go to school on the days that I did not have to work. At first she was working with me to help me manage my schedule with school but then she wanted me to switch back to days but she knew how much I love it on night shif and it fit in great with my school schedule. With my refusal not to switch back she started to cut my hours and change my day without notice. With her change my days in this manner affected me greatly how i felt that she was as a leader I felt that she was the type if you don’t do what you told that you would not last long on this unit. I felt that she would use her personal feeling that she has towards you to determine how she would treat you as an employee and that is not fair at all. I felt that she was not a great leader and i definitely did not trust her enough to talk to her with fear of acting out of spite towards me. When a leader has lost their authenticity I do think they can regain trust of followers but is going to take a lot of work and their actions are going to have to speak louder than their words.
