As a nurse I had to make sure I was there for the family and help them understand the best way to transition through this major life event of Lucy losing her life partner and Neil losing his mother. What nursing actions did you feel were appropriate within this scenario? After the patient passed away I made sure the family was aware of various ways on how to handle a passing of a loved one and explained to them that if they were not sure how to feel, oh what were they feeling to reach out and ask for help because we are there to help them. I also made them aware of support groups in the community that may be able to help go through grief of losing their loved one.
