ESSAY: Write about the 3 types of leaderships, give examples for each, 200 words minimum. Authoritarian=“controlling, directve, or autocratc” strong control over all aspects of the group and its actvites. They provide directon by doing orders that the group is expected to carry out w/out questons. The fnal decision making is that person alone. People who work under this style of leadership usually has hostle feelings and are fearful to express, uses passiveaggressive techniques to try to even the playing feld. Communicaton goes down the chain of command.  Authoritarian= best person to have during CODES o EX: A child is brought to the ER and is in a Code Blue, The authoritatve leader would be best to take lead and manage the situaton in a tmely manner to ensure best patent outcome and to delegate appropriate tasks to the nurses they are working with. Democratc= “supportve, partcipatve, transformatonal” all aspects of the process of achieving a goal, from planning and goal setng to implementng and taking credit for the success of the project, are shared by the group. There is four beliefs: every member partcipates, freedom of expression, accept responsibility for themselves and respect all the other members. Communicaton goes up and down the chain of command.  Democratc= It works best with groups whose members have a relatvely equal status and who know each other well b/c they have worked together for an extended period. o EX: A group of nurses are working on the same unit are having a dispute about an issue, the democratc leader would ask each nurse about their opinions on the issue to come together to solve it as a team. Laissez-faire= “leave it alone or lazy” permissive, nondirectve or passive. It allows the group members to determine their own goals and the methods to achieve them. Communicaton MAY go up and down chain of command.  Laissez-faire= . It works best when the members of the group have the same level of educaton as the leader and the leader performs the same tasks as the group members. When the nurse’s team is already experienced and self-directed, and doesn’t necessarily need a general giving orders. o EX: A nurse working with another nurse does not give any orders to another nurse due to them working together for a long tme and sharing the same skils as each other. https://www.coursehero.com/file/48048443/FINAL-for-RS-61219-typed-picsdocx/ This study resource was shared via CourseHero.com Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org) [Show More]
