1These problem have been an ongoing issue for PRMC. PRMC has attempted to address these issues by creating short term goals, but what is needed is long term goals that are lasting. Nurses and other ... staff have been feeling burnout as a result of these issues, now there is a drastic need to improve these problems. 2Increasing staff at the bedside will decrease the risk of injuries to patients when staffing is at an appropriate level. Nurses can give adequate safe care to their patients with appropriate ratios. Increasing the pay will encourage staff to work and able to live to the standards of the current cost of living. Eliminating disparities in the workplace is vital to an organization. Establishing improved communication between will better improve the work environment and increase the outcome of patients. 3Interdisciplinary Collaboration is vital to an organizational in healthcare. Collaborating with one another will eliminate confusion among the staff and properly address needs presented. Collaboration between healthcare providers and other staff is essential for patient safety (Lancaster, G., Kolakowsky-Hayner, S., Kovacich, J., & Greer-Williams, N., 2015). 4Having an interdisciplinary team approach will solve the problems at PRMC by improving the communication among staff and collaborators. An article titled “Interdisciplinary Communication and Collaboration Among Physicians, Nurses, and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel” published by Journal of Nursing Scholarship states, “ According to reports from healthcare accrediting agencies like the Joint Commission, poor communication among healthcare professionals is one of the most common causes of patient care errors” (Lancaster, G., Kolakowsky-Hayner, S., Kovacich, J., & Greer-Williams, N., p. 1, 2015). Effective communication and collaboration are needed to improve patient outcomes while decreasing medical mistakes. 5The lean systems approach according to an article titled, “A Case Review: Integrating Lewin’s Theory with Lean’s System Approach for Change” is a “people- based system, focusing on improving the process and supporting the people through standardized work to create process predictability, improved process flow, and ways to make defects and inefficiencies visible to empower staff to take action at all levels” (Wojciechowski, E., Pearsall, T., Murphy, P., & French, E., p.1, 2016).
